Thursday September 3rd 2015, 11:30pm, 3,2,1, take off !
Hum, well. Actually no. 3,2,1 +1:30, take off, reason: luggages problems in Roissy CDG. Well it is Roissy indeed, I had already escaped the big strikes in Paris the same day by coming by underground, what else could I expect !
So, 11 hours in the air and one ocean later, here it is, the Cidade Maravilhosa !
Oh, I almost forgot, here is the jet lag of course. Knowing my amazing resiliance to this kind of natural phenomena, I will as usual need just around 5 days to come back to normal, not zombie-like.
Once landed at 6am, 5 hours behind my head still on the french 11am, I haven't slept much and it is time to get my brasilian life going. And so here I am with my 17kg on my back and a few more on my tummy (talking about the second bag here, not the breakfast. Please !), a little walk around Copacabana is always welcome. Weather's not good and the air is heavy. All this might tell you how fresh I felt when the door opened with my new roommate Paula behind. Yes, pleasure, Samantha.
And so, the room is as tiny as on the pic and a bit too white to my taste. As soon as the backpack is emptied, my roommy brings me to a store to get bed sheets. And already she is the dearest help I could wish for. Because Duo Linguo is good, but doesn't help you much when it comes to figuring out if the sheets are king size or with elastics!
The next day, the pics are all over the walls, the room is lively and so is the house: I feel good, at home, in Rio de Janeiro (it did take me a week to realize this last sentence was real !).
Once the french wine has been open, with brasilian music playing in the back, we can confidently start our bi-continental appartment.
